De Vine Arts (Fine Art – Fine Wine)

The last weekend of September,2014, will see wineries of Summerland’s Bottleneck Drive in association with Summerland Waterfront Resort proudly showcase the work of a dozen professional and semi-professional local artists. The event, for which there is no charge, will feature complimentary wine tasting offered by a number of Bottleneck Drive wineries. lt will take place between 11 am and 6 pm, Saturday, September 27th and Sunday, September 28th in the ballroom at the Waterfront Resort, located at 13011 South Lakeshore Drive in Summerland. Among the featured artists who will be in attendance to discuss their work will be Val Eibner, a well-known professionalfused and stained glass creator. John Topham will display a selection of items which demonstrate his prowess in wood- turning. A professional painter, Will Enns, will be on hand to discuss his work which often depicts views of wine related subject matter. lrene Gray will display her latest work in oils, pastels, or acrylics mostly featuring birds or other animals. Janice Blackie-Goodine, will be taking a break from film and TV set decorating to display the results of her remarkable painting talents. Dale Matthews, a featured water colourist with the Summerland Art Gallery will be present to discuss his latest creations. Also on display and offered for sale will be pottery by Jean Evanishen who specializes in designs based on ancient archaeological artifacts. Another potter, Valorie Nielsen, creates unique pieces in raku and stoneware. Susan Scott will be on hand with her jewelry creations and Elizabeth Wrobelwill showcase her fine photographic skills. Elaine Watts will display a variety of watercolour landscapes and originaletchings and prints. Joan Lansdellwill have a selection of her colourful pastels on hand. A display by chocolatier, Lesley Vaisanen, is sure to attract lots of attention. With the help of local supporters, it is anticipated that De Vine Arts Showcase, which evolved from the popular Summerland Studio Tour, will become an annual event, encouraging discerning art and wine connoisseurs from all over to celebrate the pairing of art and...
